Danie Strachan - Partner
Danie Strachan, from Windhoek, Namibia, graduated from the University of Pretoria with a B. Comm. in Accounting. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant (SA) in 1983 and in the same year he also became partner to the firm where he was at the time.
Since then, he brought extensive auditing experience to clients, from small family-owned businesses to large private companies, retirement funds and medical aid schemes. In addition to auditing, Danie provides comprehensive business consulting, covering management, operational issues, accounting systems, budgets, tax implications, and compliance with corporate governance.
Being a member of the Practitioners’ Forum of the Pretoria Regional Association of Chartered Accountants also exemplifies Danie’s dedication to Strachan & Crouse’s values.
Despite his busy career, he is a loving father of four (with a few grandchildren) and he prioritizes family time, instilling values of respect and hard work.
Outside work, he rejuvenates by riding his mountain bike along serene trails, maintaining a harmonious and rewarding lifestyle.
Charl Crouse - Partner
Charl Crouse, hailing from London, England, completed his academic journey in Pretoria, graduating from the University of Pretoria with a B. Comm in Accounting in 1984.
He obtained his CTA from the University of South Africa in 1986 , qualified as a Chartered Accountant (SA) in 1988 and was admitted to a partnership at the firm where he articled in 1989.
With extensive experience across various sectors, including manufacturing, property development and rentals, farming, and other professional services, Charl's expertise encompasses audit, taxation and consulting. He specializes in individual tax and estate planning.
Charl is a dedicated professional and involved in the management of his running club. He is also celebrated for being a holder of a Comrades Green Number from his ultra-marathon achievements.
Besides his career and sports, he enjoys birdwatching, finding peace in the natural world. He is a loving father to two daughters and shows great affection towards his dogs, creating a balanced and fulfilling life.
Gert Meiring - Partner
Originating from Petrus Steyn, Eastern Free State, Gert Meiring took the academic route to excellence by attaining his B. Comm Degree in Accounting from the University of Pretoria in 2006.
The following year marked the beginning of his professional journey with Strachan & Crouse, where he embarked on his SAICA training, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (SA) in February 2011 and shortly after, he ascended to the role of partner in March 2012.
Gert has honed a specialized focus particularly within the sectors of residential property development, retail trade and medical aid schemes. His ascent within the firm and his specialized knowledge base underscore the depth of expertise that Strachan & Crouse offers to its clientele.
Gert excels in his professional life but also treasures the moments spent with his wife and three daughters on their family farm. Gert’s ability to blend his career with meaningful family experiences exemplifies his commitment to both his professional and personal life.
Lezanne Viljoen - Partner
Lezanne Viljoen has her roots in the Lowveld town of Malelane who traded the countryside for the vibrant pace of city life. Lezanne began her articles with Strachan & Crouse in 2007 and graduated in 2009 through the University of South Africa. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant (SA) in 2014, and within a year, she embraced the role of partner at Strachan & Crouse in March 2015.
Lezanne is known for her expertise in estate administration and strong background in accounting and auditing across various sectors including residential property development. Her comprehensive approach ensures her to efficiently manage complex estates, navigate diverse accounting landscapes, and have accurate financial oversight.
Lezanne is a young professional and mother to twin boys, skilfully balancing her career with family life. Passionate about the outdoors, she regularly organizes family camping trips, blending adventure with opportunities to explore, learn and create unforgettable memories ensuring a well-managed and gratifying lifestyle.
